The desire…The speech of Iraqi leader Al-Sayyid Muqtada Al-Sadr in his account in Twitter on 14/3/2023

Let’s speak far from heavenly and legitimate perspective to address the minds that don’t accept it whereas if the moral and religious matter didn’t deter these minds then the tangible and material matters may deter them
Our subject here is: (the desire) it is psychological convulsions in which the soul feels a strong desire to do a thing and this desire usually doesn’t continue but it ends with doing that thing; regardless the origin of this desire and its related whether for mental reasons or not and whether the related of desire and pleasure is allowable or not, the requirements of the human and his body have many desires as desire of food, drink, money, s.ex, fame and others, but the desire may has addic.tion and getting used to it, the desire of money brings more demands for money whether he fulfilled his demand and desire or not and also other desires. It is as the sport, the one who gets used to it, it will be so difficult to leave it, or as the desire of sleep which it makes the person sleeps more and more…etc. It is known that this desire was planted in the human characteristic, it can’t be avoided just through self – taming as in some spiritual sports and jih.ads; but the most important matter: these desires must have limit and that is what the modern science admits it medically in the physical and psychiatry medicine and also psychologically and the like. The one who likes food shouldn’t overeat because it h.arms his health, also the desire of money should have limit and it should observe the poor and relatives…etc. The desire of sleep doesn’t mean to exaggerate or neglect it but it’s something between these two matters, especially in the material desires, it may be different in the desire of fame for example, it may be h.armful if it exceeds the limits; but some people try to exceed the limit in their desires, he criticizes its decrease but he doesn’t criticize its increase but he instigates on it especially (se.xual desire) considering that it is a personal freedom and has no limit and he has the right to practice it by agreement without deterrent with a male or female. The desire without shame permits everything, so why do they specify the food, drink and money in some laws but they don’t do that in the se.xual desire? In spite of the desire of food is personal one and only the one who eats more will be h.armed, but the related of se.xual desire is two persons or more in addition to other social related. They may specify to the other types of food and drink as low fat and sugars and the like, and they specify the trade of money on some people but in the same time they expand the area of s.exual desire to the men with men and women with women and they don’t specify it with the difference of genderLet you know that the desire upon which the human was created is not a property of the human because what issue from the human must have limit even the thinking, motion and stillness or the rest, speaking, silence, sight but even smelling and hearing and others; the exaggeration in them will be h.armful and it is approved scientifically, these desires can’t be opened and permit everything as preventing from hearing the high voice or the voices which h.arm the ear or thinking in matters which are higher than person’s mind or speaking loudly or looking to the sun or intensive light and other example. Each desire has limit with its doing and related, also the desire of s.ex should be like other desires (has limit), man practices s.ex with his wife and the woman does the same with her husband. Each desire has benefit as benefit of sight, hearing and smelling, also the s.exual desire has its private benefit that is building a family and increasing the mankind, and out of these matters are not permitted as the one who comes to eavesdrop or spies or looking to the fo.rbidding matters or the one who desires in the money of someone to increase his fortune. The desire isn’t a property to the person that controls in it as he wills as in the case of his body parts except according to the interest and benefits and without h.arm otherwise it is like animal desire which causes r.uin, de.vouring and loose. In addition to what we said in the beginning that the time of desire is short and its doer may regret after he got what desired without right; also some of them have no benefit, what is the benefit of drunkenness or nakedness and the like? If it was said: it has psychological benefit or benefit for rest and the like, we say: it is far from the right, its h.arm is more than its benefit then its negative results will be prevalent and there will be no benefit. It isn’t scientific or cultural or technical or medical matter or invention which benefit the mankind, but it is fancy which vanishes quickly and more people around him will be ha.rmed whence he knows or doesn’t know
