The justice of Imam Ali in judgment

One day , two men traveled together , at the lunch time one of them took out five breads from his bag , the other one took out three breads , while they were going to eat a passerby approached from them , they invited him to take lunch with them , he accepted their invitation .
When they finished the lunch , the passerby gave them eight coins to express his gratefulness for the invitation , the man who has three breads told the other to divide the eight coins fifty fifty between them but the other man refused this division and told him that each one should take the equivalent of what they gave to passerby from the breads . After along discussion they decided to go to Imam Ali to solve the problem , when he heard their story , he gave the man who has five breads seven coins and the other man one coin because the man who has three breads ate 2 2/3 from the bread and gave 1/3 of it to the passerby while the man who has five breads ate 2 2/3 from his breads and gave the rest ( 2 1/3 ) to the passerby , thus Imam Ali gave
a coin for each 1/3 of bread .
