On the occasion of Workers’ Day

On the occasion of Workers’ Day …. The speech of the leader Al-Sayyid Muqtada Al-Sadr in his official account on 1/5/2024
In the name of Allah
I don’t exaggerate when I say (the first of May) is not a Day for workers but it is a Day for employment not because its idea is western nor because the worker doesn’t deserve to have annual Day to celebrate; but it isn’t logical that the worker has an annual Day in our societies and he suffers woes, he doesn’t have rights whereas his will and opinion are stolen from him and he has only a list of duties, he has no guarantee for the risks that he exposes to them here and there; he has only few destroyed and frozen laws which are useless, he takes a few salary which those who have authority from politicians and those who are in government give to him as a charity as if it is slavery; but the worker has pride and dignity and he doesn’t submit to the humiliation, co,.rruption and injustice.I’m certain, if not the workers, the homelands would not have been built; and if not their hands, the countries would not have been constructed; but they were vic,.tims of ty,.ranny, co,.rruption, partisanship and se,.ctarianism, all of that is more dan,.gerous on the workers than development and technology which removed many workers and made the young and old people suffer from unemployment as in our beloved Iraq that removed the workers at the expense of par,.tisanship, nepotism, faked loyalty, subordination and se,.ctarianism. No, the Workers’ Day isn’t mere chants and speeches raised here and there; the workers must have the priority in building, construction, prosperity and progress through return their rights, respect them, educated them, arousing of their enthusiasm morally and materially, whereas those who work hard in our country take a few salary and those who live in palaces and luxury houses take the livelihood of people through in,.justice, aggr,.ession and co,.rruption. The righteous, patriot, hardworking, who avoid entertainment must be the first badge of honor in our beloved Iraq, whereas the workers are from the homeland and to the homeland, I hope that they will not give up their love for their country and not to be estranged from their homelands to serve homelands which are not theirs and they shouldn’t kneel to the in,.justice and co,.rruption as we knew them and Allah is the source of each success
