The City of Fatima

It’s a city in Portugal and its name came from the name of the daughter of the prophet Mohammed (Fatima), but why this Arabic name became a name of an Europe city in Portugal ?!

If we want to know the reason behind that, we have to come back to 1916 to know the truth,

While Francisco (9 years), Jacinta (7 years) and Lucia (10 years) where playing together in their village, an angle appeared before them and was saying (Don’t afraid, I’m the angle of peace. My God, I believe in you. My God, I adore you. I ask you to forgive those who commit sins, to forgive those who have no faith or belief) after these words, the angle disappeared. This angel appeared once again in the next summer and in autumn.
The three children told the people of their village what they had seen, but many of people didn’t believe what the children said…
In 13may 1917 the same three children saw a great light above an oak tree which was surrounded on a woman, that light was brighter than the light of the sun!! and the name of that woman was (Fatima) as she said; that name is the same name of the daughter of prophet Mohammed (Muslims’ prophet)as we said above .
Now, read the conversation which took place between the strange woman and the children:
The woman to the scared children “Don’t be afraid, I don’t want to frighten you”.
The children became brave and asked her “who are you?”
She said “I’m the daughter of Prophet Mohammed”.
They said” where did you come from?”
She said “I’ve came from the heaven”
They said “what do you want from us?”
She said “I made you come here and I will tell you what I want later”
After this unusual event, she was appearing to these children every month; and in her sixth appearance (the last appearance) seven thousand people came to see the holy woman, when they gathered, the holy woman appeared and the rain suddenly stopped, the holy woman made the sun move, then she stopped it and then made it move again, people thought that the sun and sky would fall on them, but then the sun returned to its usual situation.

This incident published for the first time in Lisbon newspaper in the same year of the appearance of the holy woman.







What happened to the three children?!

Jacinta and Francisco confirmed that the holy woman said to them that they will join her soon and she will make them to heaven and that what happened actually where Jacinta and Francisco died after two or three years of seeing the holy woman because lung disease.
Their death made all people believe in what the children said and they believe in the holy woman Fatima.
While Lucia became a nun and called people to worship God because the holy woman asked her to make people worship him, she died in 13 feb 2005.
